Dr. Chardale Murray
Dr. Chardale Murray, born November 29, 1975, in Hollywood, South Carolina, is a dedicated business owner, entrepreneur, and public servant. She is the daughter of Lorraine and Charlie Murray, Sr., and mother to Bryce Murray.
A graduate of Baptist Hill High School and Talladega College, Dr. Murray pursued graduate studies in Social Work at the University of South Carolina and holds an honorary doctorate from Cannon Bible College. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Gamma Xi Omega Chapter) and Henrietta B. White Temple #1342 (I.B.P.O.E.W.).
Professionally, Dr. Murray is the owner of Murray’s Mortuary, a trusted community institution for over 18 years, and has managed Harleston-Boags Funeral Home, Inc. She also founded Murray’s Executive LLC, a trucking company, and manages several other businesses. She became one of the region’s youngest licensed funeral directors in 2000.
In public service, Dr. Murray served as a Town Councilmember for Hollywood, SC, beginning in July 2019. During her tenure, she launched initiatives to support veterans, senior citizens, and children, including an annual Veteran’s Day Breakfast, holiday turkey giveaways, and the donation of bicycles during the Christmas Parade.
Her ongoing focus is on accessible healthcare for rural communities, continuing education and trade programs, improved broadband access, and affordable workforce housing, reflecting her commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Hollywood.
